OpenLieroX – Worms shoot-em-up clone with network support
OpenLieroX is a real-time addictive Worms shoot-em-up clone with network support.
Your character is a worm (or similar) and you have to shoot other worms around you. You have an huge arsenal of weapons to do this. You have also a ninja-rope to quickly transverse from one point to another.
The game is based on a deathmatch setting, where multiple players face off in a closed level. Each player is equipped with five weapons selected out of all the weapons allowed, and with a ninja rope that allows the player to move in any direction. Players begin with a set amount of lives, and whilst the game records the number of kills, the last man standing is usually considered the winner. LieroX also allows team deathmatches, which has made it common for players to form clans.
The game has an active internet community and an ingame-serverlist, so can easily join other net games. Alternatively, bots are available so that gamers can also play alone.
